ZhongYin Helps Hong Kong Legal Education Welcomes the Fourth Batch of Hong Kong Law Students

On July 8, 2019, the “2019 Program for Hong Kong Youth’s Legal Internship in the Mainland” sponsored by the International Youth Legal Exchange Association was launched as scheduled. According to the arrangement of the Ministry of Justice, ZhongYin Law Firm has arranged an internship for four law students from Hong Kong and held a welcoming ceremony for them. Director Yan Penghe, Supervisory Committee Chairman Zheng Wei, Management Committee Member Liu Zhenyu, and Operations Director Fu Tingting of ZhongYin attended the welcoming ceremony. Liang Jingyin from the University of Birmingham, Yuan Songqi from the City University of Hong Kong, Chen Baoqiao from the University of Bristol, and Huang Zhanghan from the University of Hong Kong were respectively assigned to the teams of four senior partners to start a one-month internship.
At the welcoming ceremony, Yan Penghe mentioned that, in the macro context of China’s current Belt and Road Initiative and strategy of building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, ZhongYin is honoured to have the opportunity to work with Hong Kong students to “acquire knowledge through experience” and learn from each other; we will communicate with each other about Chinese traditional civilization and Western modern experience and explore together how attorneys can better realize their value in promoting “good laws and sound governance”.

Zheng Wei hoped that Hong Kong law students would have a good time during the one-month internship and that ZhongYin would provide more options for their future choice of practice area.

Liu Zhenyu emphasized that during the internship, Hong Kong law students should pay attention to summing up experience to gain some insights, become familiar with the application of mainland law in practice, and master mainland basic skills lawyers' practice; as well as actively participate in the firm's colorful leisure activities, such as badminton and football matches.

Four Hong Kong law students will begin a one-month internship
For four consecutive years since 2016, ZhongYin Law Firm has arranged internship for Hong Kong law students selected to the firm, and has summarized some practical experience in conducting practice guidance and exchange with young students. 2016 is also the year of establishment of ZLF Law Office, China’s first joint venture law firm established jointly by Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, namely ZhongYin based in Beijing, Lektou based in Macao and FONGS based in Hong Kong; as early as that time, ZhongYin Law Firm was committed to promoting cross-regional and cross-jurisdictional cooperation on legal affairs among the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and so far has not changed its original intentions. It is believed that through the joint efforts of legal organizations and law firms in the Mainland and Hong Kong, with such new opportunities and on such new platforms as created by the country, young students can serve the country with what they have learned, by make positive contributions to the development of the Mainland and Hong Kong.
