On November 8, 2018, the 13th “ZhongYin Lecture Hall” was held in the second meeting room of ZhongYin Law Firm. The lecture was given on the theme “Timeline APP in Investment and M&A – Make It More Transparent” by Sun Jian, a supervisory committee member and senior partner of the firm.

This lecture consists of three parts. In part 1, starting from the development of and change in the model of legal service, Sun Jian talked about his personal discoveries in legal service: while cab-hailing apps have revolutionized the traditional way of hailing a cab by telephone, the means of legal service is still basically the same as ten years ago. Through the comparison between yesterday and today, Sun Jian put forward the core subject of this lecture: how to make better use of the Internet, APP and other technical means to make the traditional model of law practice transparent, intuitive, convenient and clear, thereby better serving the clients and the legal community.

In part 2, by combining the case of overseas acquisition of a German listed company, Sun Jian introduced the concept and product of “timeline”. Through an app whereby the work “timeline” can be established, updated at any time and shared in real time, the M&As conducted by the firm are clearly displayed on a modularized basis. For existing clients, this app enables a simpler and clearer communication process and improves client satisfaction; for potential clients, this app provides a clearer view of the nature and expected results of the service provided; for the firm itself, this app can improve management efficiency, facilitate practice process accumulation, and promote institutionalized and systematic learning.

In part 3, Sun Jian looked forward to the future development, and put forward some problems that might arise during the development, including: cost, visualization, document updating, client communication and so on.
