On September 8, 2019, the 2019 LegalTech Conference sponsored by Beijing Thunisoft Co., Ltd. was grandly opened at the International Conference Center in the Zhongguancun Software Park. Themed of “Jointly Open A New Chapter in LegalTech, to Help the New Development of the Rule of Law in China”, the conference interpreted the LegalTech ecology from various aspects such as profession practice, technology application, academic research, legal service, and administrative law enforcement. Approximately 2,000 people, including Xu Jianfeng, the Director of the Information Center of the Supreme People's Court, Zhao Zhigang, the Director of the Procuratorial Technical Information Research Center of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Yao Xiongsen, the Deputy Director of the Information Center of the Ministry of Justice, Shen Weixing, a Professor and the Dean of the School of Law, Tsinghua University, Xu Shenjian, a Professor and the Dean of the Graduate School of Law, China University of Political Science and Law, Markus Hartung, the Founder and a Senior Researcher of the Legal Career Center of the Bucerius Law School in Germany and Chairman of the Professional Supervision Committee of the German Bar Association, and Zhang Weichen, an Informatization Expert of the Information Technology Application Guidance Division, Informatization Bureau, Ministry of Public Security, and representatives from technology companies and well-known media, gathered to share and exchange ideas on innovation practices in and future prospects of LegalTech. Li Zheng gave a speech on the theme of “A Brief Introduction of Judicial Practice with LegalTech”, By combining judicial practices such as online case-filing, remote video hearing, Internet court panel establishment, and practical work needs such as case retrieval, file sorting, and typesetting and proofreading of text materials, he elaborated, among others, LegalTech’s positive influence on lawyers’ work and promotion to judicial practice reform. Moreover, he stated that: lawyers’ work ultimately relies on experience rather than logic; although artificial intelligence technology has improved work efficiency, lawyers would never be replaced by artificial intelligence.
