ZhongYin Selected as Public-interest Lawyer of the China Securities Investor Services Center

In order to implement the action system of special representative through investor protection organization established in Paragraph 3 of Article 95 of the new Securities Law and The Supreme People's Court on Several Issues concerning Representative Action on Securities Disputes, China Securities Investor Services Center ("Investor Services Center") issued the Service Rules on Special Representative Action through China Securities Investor Services Center (Trial) on July 31, 2020, stating that the Investor Services Center would set up a major case assessment expert committee and a public-interest lawyer team so that the Investor Services Center could better participate in special representative actions to protect investors' interests, and that the public-interest lawyers entrusted by the Investor Services Center would act as agents in concerning securities disputes. After a rigorous qualification review, Wu Zetao, management committee member and senior partner of ZhongYin Law Firm, was successfully selected as a public-interest lawyer of the Investor Services Center.

The Investor Services Center is a securities and financial public-interest organization established in December 2014 and is directly administered by the China Securities Regulatory Commission. The Investor Services Center is responsible mainly for conducting public-interest publicity and education for investors; holding securities and other investments in a public interest nature, and exercising rights as shareholders or securities holders; as entrusted by investors, providing mediation and other dispute resolution services; provide investors with public-interest action support and related services; construction, management, operation and maintenance of www.investor.org.cn; surveying and monitoring investors’ wishes and demands, and carrying out strategic research and planning; on behalf of investors, filing petitions to government agencies and regulatory authorities; and other services entrusted by the China Securities Regulatory Commission.

The Capital Market Dispute Resolution Research Center of ZhongYin Law Firm is one of the earliest large capital market dispute resolution teams in China. It consists of many senior partners, partners, associates, and paralegals. As the director of the center, Wu Zetao specializes in the capital market dispute resolution, and provides clients with large number of effective legal services related to disputes over liabilities for securities misrepresentations, stock-pledged repurchases, bond trading in capital market, M&A and reorganization in capital market, and capital exit from capital market, as well as governance/control over of listed companies, cases of reconsideration of administrative penalties imposed by the China Securities Regulatory Commission and legal practice, remedy through self-regulatory measures, diversified resolution of finance and securities disputes, and other matters, and thus accumulates extensive professional knowledge and practical experience.
