Zhong Yin Trade Remedy Practice Group Represents the Client in South Africa's Anti-Dumping Investigation against China’s Automotive Windshields and Wins Zero Tariff Rate

On January 19, 2024, the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) announced the final judgment on the anti-dumping investigation against China’s automotive windshields. Mr. Jia Zheng, senior partner and director in the International Trade and Maritime practice group of Zhong Yin Law Firm, represented BSG Auto Glass Industry Co., Ltd. to respond to the investigation, and assisted the client in winning zero tariff rate in the final decision, achieving a complete victory. This is one of the best results obtained for Chinese export entities in South Africa's anti-dumping investigation against China in the past five years. In this case, the tax rates applied for most of other Chinese export entities range from 12.92% to 129.15%. On July 22, 2022, ITAC made an announcement to initiate an anti-dumping investigation against automotive windshields originating in China.

During the anti-dumping practice for the past 20 years, Zhong Yin Trade Remedy practice group has represented more than 300 Chinese enterprises to respond to over 200 anti-dumping and countervailing cases, concerning the worldwide major markets including America, European Union, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Eurasian Economic Union, India, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, South Africa, Egypt, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Columbia, Chile, Uruguay, etc. Since 2007, we have represented numerous domestic export enterprises to respond in anti-dumping investigations initiated by South Africa against China concerning stainless steel sinks, hexagonal head bolts, stainless steel threaded rods, graphite electrodes, PET, tires, automotive windshields, galvanized sheets and so forth, and have obtained good results of “no tariff”, “zero tariff” or “the lowest tariff rate” for such enterprises for several times.
