Six Hong Kong and Macao Attorneys (including Barristers) Are Admitted to Practice in ZLF

Recently, another 5 Hong Kong solicitors and barristers and 1 Macau solicitor each obtained a Work Permit for Hong Kong / Macao Attorney in Joint Venture Law Firm issued by Guangdong Provincial Department of Justice and was admitted to practice in ZLF Law Office (“ZLF”). These 5 Hong Kong solicitors and barrister are: Barrister Tam Kin Yip, Solicitor Hui Ka Wai (Carrie), Solicitor BUT, Man Tai, Solicitor Ho Yee Lin (Elaine), Solicitor Lee Kwun Ting. The Macau solicitor is: Solicitor Marta Mourão Guimarães Rocha Teixeira Cortês.

On the afternoon of November 29, 2019, ZLF held a ceremony to issue the abovementioned work permits to the 6 Hong Kong and Macau attorneys (including a barrister) who had joined ZLF. These are another group of Hong Kong and Macau attorneys joining in the big family of ZhongYin after 5 Hong Kong and Macau attorneys (including barristers), namely Barrister Katy Chung, Barrister Ho Shi King, Barrister Alison Mo, Solicitor YU CHEUK MAN, Solicitor Chung Wai Hung (Gerard), joined to practice in ZLF in January 2019.
As the first Mainland-Hong Kong-Macao joint venture law firm, ZLF is established to implement the requirements for “closer cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong (Macau) lawyers and exploration on how to improve the operation of Mainland-Hong Kong (Macau) joint venture law firms” in Supplement VIII to CEPA. Its establishment is an important initiative to further promote the liberalization of service trade in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and to make closer the cooperation among the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau lawyers, and has created a mode of cross-regional and cross-jurisdictional cooperation on legal service among the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao, whereby the staff in one office can provide enterprises with one-stop legal services involving three jurisdictions and multi languages.
