ZhongYin Represents Clients on India’s Anti-dumping Investigation and Wins the Most Favorable Decision of No Duty

On October 20, 2022, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India announced the decision to impose no anti-dumping duty on Atorvastatin intermediates originating in China. The trade remedy team led by Jia Zheng, Director of International Practice Department and Senior Partner of ZhongYin Law Firm, represented China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products and four Chinese exporters to participate in the investigation, and assisted the clients in obtaining an ideal result, namely lower limit of $119.21/kg, in the final ruling. After the final ruling, ZhongYin team, partnering with an Indian law firm, continued to submit a defense before the Ministry of Finance of India. The Ministry of Finance of India ultimately did not accept the taxation proposal of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India and decided to impose no anti-dumping duty on Chinese Atorvastatin intermediate products. On August 2, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India announced that it initiated an anti-dumping investigation against Atorvastatin intermediates originating in China.
