On December 22, 2022, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India announced the decision to impose no anti-dumping duty on glycine originating in China. The trade remedy team led by Jia Zheng, Director of International Practice Department and Senior Partner of ZhongYin Law Firm, represented Guang'an Chengxin Chemical Co., Ltd to participate in the investigation, and assisted the client in obtaining the second-lowest tax rate in the final ruling. After the final ruling, ZhongYin team, partnering with an Indian law firm, continued to submit a defense before the Ministry of Finance of India. The Ministry of Finance of India ultimately did not accept the taxation proposal of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India and decided to impose no anti-dumping duty on Chinese glycine products. On September 30, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India released an announcement that it initiated an anti-dumping investigation against China’s glycine.
